Pondicherry, as we all know, is a beautiful beach town and has some exemplary displays of French architecture. I just love the older part of the city also known as White town, which was once an abode of the French men during the 17th century. It now has colorful houses and lovely cafes left as their imprints on the city. Although we have been to Pondicherry before, but the city holds a certain charm that we could not resist visiting it for the third time. Shivam and I along with our friends left on a self-drive trip from Bangalore to celebrate my friend’s birthday and also her first trip as a new mom. We all were as excited as it can get!

It took us about 6 hours to reach Pondicherry as we started late in the night. You can’t trust Google maps due to network issues on the way, so we downloaded the map to help us in navigation. Having seen all the touristy places before, this time around we decided to just relax and enjoy some downtime. We stayed at this property called The Promenade that overlooks the sea and offers a gorgeous view of Rocky beach. The major highlight of my stay was waking up to a delicious spread of breakfast every day and beautiful pool inside the property. I was literally starting my day right devouring in good food and a splendid view from my table each morning.
The first thing that my friend and I did after reaching the hotel was to visit their boutique shop while waiting for our check-in. Though the check-in was smooth, we had to wait for a while as we reached before time and no other rooms were vacant. So we decided to go out for a walk along the Rocky beach and had our breakfast at Le Cafe . It was almost afternoon by the time we got our room keys and I could not wait any longer to hit the bed.
Everybody enjoyed a quick nap after which we got up to have our lunch and hopped into Madame Shanthe’s restaurant. The food there was decent but priced really high for its worth. Well, let me fill you in with some interesting details from our trip. So we decided to check out all the raved about places to eat during our three-day trip and it was fun hopping in cafes while trying different cuisines. No wonder I came back with an extra 2 kilos and some major food hangover! 😛 The best was at our hotel restaurant, Bay of Buddha – The Promenade and also at The Indian Kaffe Express . You must try them out if you travel to Pondicherry anytime.
On the second day of our trip, my friend and I decided to meet by the pool after breakfast. We literally had the most amazing time soaking in some vitamin C and laughing our lungs out. It was our best girly time and we clicked loads of crazy selfies only to laugh at them later. 😀 I also managed to do some street shopping on the famous mission street before we left back for Bangalore. It was short but sweet whirlwind of a trip to say so 🙂
Here are a few pictures of the outfits that I wore in Pondicherry. I decided to go with comfortable chic as the weather was quite hot and humid there. Check out the lookbook we shot in Pondicherry.
