This time of the year is filled with festivals here in India and my most favorite ones are almost here. With Karwachauth and Diwali coming up it is high time to have your outfits sorted to look your best. Now we always go all out shopping for our festive wear but there is no point spending insane amount of money on clothes we won’t be wearing more than a couple of times (I learnt it the hard way!). So what I do is follow the golden rule of mix and match which is the safest way to repeat any outfit. Or If you have an eye for latest trends, you can always find something good in your budget too. There are endless Indian festival outfit ideas online but you must know your taste and have a clarity of thought.
Some people like it grand but if you are someone like me who loves minimalism even in your traditional wear, finding something to suit your taste becomes a difficult task. I personally love blending in the traditional with contemporary. And the fact that I only get suits stitched at my mum’s boutique in Punjab is because I get to do it my way. So this time for Karwachauth when I could not get a dress from her, I was left with no other choice but to buy something from here.
Luckily, I found this kurta and palazzo set at Westside after I had almost given up on finding something that I liked. I love how it is so on point with trend and multi purpose in terms of styling. The cut, fabric and print fits perfectly into my modern ethnic wardrobe. I then added my rustic pom pom detailed necklace and rose gold flats to keep up with the festive look. You can also wear big jhumkas, swap the flats with gold heels, carry a beaded clutch and throw over a dupatta if you want.
Would love to hear the festival outfit ideas that you have in comments below and you can also check out my festive looks from last year on the blog here ( 1 & 2 ).

Thank you Aish.. 🙂
Absolutely love the pictures! And you look classy!
Thank you so much Sahana 🙂
Love love the combination!!! I have a kurta- shirt very similar to that..
Thanku Krupa.. I guess I have seen that Kurta on your blog.. 🙂
I loved this outfit! I wish I could wear palazzos but I am short and they don’t look great on me 🙁
But you can always wear them with heels.. try to wear the ones that go just above the ankle as it helps in accentuating height. 🙂
I have a foot condition, advised not to wear heels 🙁
I will try a palazzo though, someday! They looks so gorgeous 🙂
Oh then you must take care and yes go ahead if you want to.. 🙂
You look lovely. Loved the post 🙂
Thank you Anusha :))
