Happy New Year 2016 – Let’s talk beauty favorites!

2016 beauty edition

I know it’s crazy but where did the year go? I still have things left undone from what I had planned for 2015. But I am thankful of getting to live some really interesting experiences and meet like minded people on this journey. 2015 also saw me exploring new places with dear husband and we only intent on taking it more seriously this year.

Blogging wise, It was definitely a good year with more visibility and love from my readers. Since my regular job is far disconnected from what I do here on the blog, It sometimes leave me with less or no excitement to generate creative content for my blog. But this year I have decided to be more focused in choosing the relevant content and presenting it to you on timely basis.
It’s high time I get serious about filling planners and not depend on my gut instincts. To not procrastinate and take my blog a little more seriously is going to be my mantra this year.

Talking of which, Another thing that I am focused on is to wisely choose products for my beauty stash. So watch out for some handpicked beauty product reviews on the blog in coming future. In this post, I am sharing with you guys the products which were a constant in my vanity this past year and hopefully in 2016 too(If only I don’t find something better than this!).
So sit down and have a nice read!

Kama Ayurveda – Brigandi Intense Hair Treatment Oil
I have been a loyal to this product from past one year now. It suits my colored and wavy hair just how it is supposed to be. Even if it is a light massage before showering or full champi a night before, It gives me shiny soft hair as a result. I skip using conditioner that day and my hair stays soft even without it.

Kama Ayurveda – Nimrah Anti Acne Face Pack
Not much of a mask person who has lived by swearing on the benefits of multani mitti and haldi besan as cleanser, I added this to my stash after seeing positive results.
It is not your typical powder pack but something that works both as a scrub and face mask. It smells something of wood or herbal roots and using this alone might dry out your skin. The trick here is to mix it with curd forming a paste like texture which saves the day and has healing properties of its own. Just be ready for an instant clean face once you try this on.

Forest Essentials Kokum Butter & Honey Lip Balm
You might know that I was in Punjab for good three weeks last month and thanks to the biting cold, I had dry chapped lips within two days of my stay there! Naturally I was hunting for something to save myself the misery and after failed attempts of trying two products that I already had, I stumbled upon the forest essentials store in one of the malls and couldn’t stop but make a purchase.
There is no better evidence of its effectiveness than the proof that I didn’t use anything but this on my lips and survived Jammu cold. Period!

2016 beauty edition

Mac Lipstick – All Fired Up
This one is my latest purchase from Mac and I have not been able to stop using it from the day I got it. Need proof, checkout my Instagram !
With a genuine intent of finishing this one out super quick, I also plan on splurging in other gorgeous matte shades from Mac. Any suggestions? I am all ears.

2016 beauty edition

Shiseido Bronzer
Although this one has been there in my kit from quite long now. But it’s actually being used religiously from past few months since I took baby steps in contouring.
I love how it subtly creates illusion of sharper cheek bones and jawline giving a sun-kissed look to my face. It is not too pigmented and is easy to build up depending on the occasion and time of the day. I am glad I made the choice of loosening money from my wallet for this one.

Colorbar Radiant Glow Eclat Lumiere Highlighter
With contouring I have also learnt the importance of highlighting those cheek and collar bones, also known as Strobing technique. Although I am a rookie in this department but you need to start somewhere. I have tried this highlighter pen on some recent occasions and totally loved how easy it is to use to get those warm shiny cheek bones for the run.

2016 beauty edition

Yves Saint Laurent – Black Opium
I treated myself to Black Opium by YSL on my birthday last year. It was the most tiring experience to search for a good fragrance but all worth it when I found this one. It has the addictive notes of coffee, orange, cedar wood and patchouli perfect for a memorable night out.
They say that smell trigger memories. Well, what better way than a gorgeous fragrance on that special date of yours triggering sweet memories even after the likes and comments on your facebook picture stop pouring in! 😉
You get the idea, do you?

These were some of the highly recommended and abused products from my beauty section. And I would not have found a better way to recall my year than this post.
Hope you enjoyed reading it and do share your feedback in the comments section below.
