If you follow me on Instagram, you would know that i had updated about purchasing the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo a while back. Its a skin care product everyone’s raving about and i couldn’t help trying it myself to deal with my skin issues. Although i like to keep my skin care routine fuss-free and do not indulge in trying different products but my bad skin days needed a savior and this one comes with a reputation. One of the most common reason for my skin problems is the changing weather conditions. So i decided to try it when the heat and dry weather started soaking all the moisture out of my skin, inflating the redness with minor acne break out.
I have tried it for a few weeks now and shall talk about how it worked for my skin type which is normal-to-oily.
Price : 1300/- for 40ml.
What it claims :
- Corrects the appearance of imperfections.
- Unclogs blocked pores.
- Fights against marks.
- Non comedogenic
- No Paraben
- Nickel-tested (developed for people who are sensitive to nickel).
- Can be used as makeup base.
Some more serious claims :
- imperfections look visibly less red after 24 hours.
- localised imperfections appear significantly reduced within 8 days.
- pores look unclogged, skin texture looks refined. Controls the appearance of shine after 4 weeks.
Apply on full face daily morning and night before bed.
My take on it :
It comes in a tube packaging with a thin nozzle which dispenses only the required amount and keeps it hygienic. After the first few uses, redness on my face visibly reduced and my skin felt smooth. I used to apply it twice a day during night and in morning before applying sunscreen for a month.
This brand is not very easily available everywhere and in bangalore you can find it only in some Health & Glow stores or online on Violetbag.com .
After using it for almost four weeks now, i can definitely say it has not done anything to stop my acne breakout permanently. Though i do not have any severe acne issues but i do get one or two every now and then which is still same. Saying that i would also like to mention that in between this duration my foundation backfired once and i stopped using anything on my face but this. In return i noticed it dried the acne and also reduced the marks after continuous use. So for me it wins the anti-imperfections claim game. It certainly does not clog pores and reduced the production of oil on my face and apparently works as a perfect base under my makeup too.
Overall, its good stuff and suits almost all skin types which makes it a must try. In case you have already tried it, do share your view about it too. It will be great to have feedback from different people with different skin type and if it varies with climatic conditions.
Hoping to hear from you.
