Top 5 ways to make the most out of your way, motivational post

Well, this is not a usual post or topic of discussion on my blog, but it was not until now that I found it appropriate to share my ‘top 5 ways to make the most our your day‘ with you all. It goes without saying that we all are so busy in our day to day life that even a small task such as analysing our day at the end looks tedious to us. Now this goes for me too and it was only after moving to UK I realised how poorly I was managing my time. Given that I was busy trying to juggle a full-time job with blogging and being a homemaker, I never did retrospect my ‘way’ of doing it. Things were getting done and that was just fine by me!

Frankly, I am too lazy to follow a to-do list (Even though I enjoy making one) but I always had my busy lifestyle to blame at for this. So when I left my job and had nothing major to do other than arranging my new house and blogging, I was still falling back at it. With breakfasts by noon and no excitement to workout, I was slowly starting to feel miserable. Initially, I blamed it on change of place and weather and people. But It took me some time (rather 2 months) to come out of this vacation mode and take charge of my life.

To see days changing into weeks and weeks into months without having done anything (busy is my sane) is not a good feeling. So before it was too late, I sat down and listed the things that make me happy and what was it that I was doing wrong. Then I made a few tweaks to my daily routine which has helped me so far. I won’t say this is a fool proof way but just something that worked for me.

  • Prioritise

    Now this is the most important part and you might already know this. Always plan your day ahead. It may be deciding your outfit the night before or listing down your tasks for the day. Prioritising not only saves you from any last minute hassles but it is best to keep your mind at peace.

  • Don’t check your phone first thing in the morning

    I was wasting almost two hours in the morning checking my phone and then beating myself for it. FOMO affects us all but to stay glued to social media and doing nothing is not going to help.

  • Little things matter

    Something as simple as taking shower in the morning, even if you are planning to stay indoors. It helps to make us feel good and sometimes even pushes us to stop being lazy.

  • Step out of your comfort zone

    Never stop learning. A person can never be perfect, so doubt yourself sometimes and explore the unknown. I started out with scouting local cafes and talking to random people to get more comfortable with this place. I got to know a coffee shop lady as we talked about life and random things one fine day. And now she offers me coffee or cookie on the house sometimes (funny right?!)

  • Reflect

    To analyse my day at the end gives me a chance to improve. To see if I could have done it any other way and work on it. You are only human to make mistakes or feel a certain way. So never be too hard on yourself for not being able to achieve something you wish for. But its always good to become more self-aware.
