We all have our good days and bad days but some days can be really hard on us when we find it difficult to stay positive and happy. I have personally found myself falling into this deep dark hole more often than I could imagine in these last few months. It not only slows down my productivity but affects my mental peace and makes it really hard for me to work towards my daily goals. So I thought why not talk about it here on the blog and share a few things that have been helpful from time to time.
Being a true Saggitarian woman, I can never stay in a same place or situation for too long but as I grow old, I have found myself struggling to deal with this negative mindset. Social media has taken over our lives and it can be really intimidating sometimes. And the fact that kids these days think failing in an exam or having their heart broken is worth giving up on life for, makes it even more dangerous.
Negative situations are only natural and bound to happen. You cannot run from them but you can learn to fight them and stay positive. I have listed a few things down below which I personally find helpful. So here you go –
Believe in the power of attraction – positivity attracts positivity and vice versa
If you have read the book ‘Secret’ you would know what this means and if not, you probably should! The logic is simple, if you are happy and positive from the inside out only then you can give your 100% to anything. Success does not come overnight, you have to work hard for it. But staying positive during difficult times can give you immense strength and makes the process easier.
Laugh often and do what you love
Listen to your favorite music or watch a tv show or go out shopping, whatever takes the negativity off your mind and helps you think straight. I enjoy going to coffee shops whenever I am feeling low or out of ideas, they are my happy place!
Know your company
Be mindful of the people you surround yourself with. Negative vibes can really bring you down so choose wisely. Find someone you can talk to about your problems without being judged. The kind of company you keep can make a huge difference in the way your life is shaped.
Learn to appreciate your life and its blessings. Understand that what we see on social media mostly are perfectly curated moments from someone’s life. We won’t know how much hard work they’ve put into it, so never compare. Celebrate little things like getting a day off during a busy week or maybe less work on a weekend. The time that you get to spend with your family or home-cooked meals etc. Once you start acknowledging such little things, I promise your life will embrace positivity.
Workout for a healthy body and mind
A healthy body and mind is less prone to negativity and we have studies to prove that. All the famous people do that and you should do it too. Go out for a walk with your pooch or sweat it out in the gym. Eat a balanced diet, practice yoga, sleep for a good amount of time or meditate. Do whatever floats your boat but make sure you take out some time for your health every day.
