The winter is at its peak right now and so is my longing for warm summer days. It genuinely takes a lot of effort to get out of bed in the morning and to dress up, but we have to wait a little longer to be able to bask in the sunshine. And until then, the thing that has kept me going through this freezing cold is my cozy bunch of sweaters! I love how easy they are to style with my trousers, jeans or skirts on even laziest of the days. You can layer them however you want, over a shirt or under a jacket, and they promise to keep you warm and look your stylish best.
The options are endless but you need only a few each season. So why not get the classics and let both our wallet and wardrobe breathe! In this post I have compiled my favourite pieces that I have been repeating without shame and how they all are different from each other and bring variety to my closet. Always be mindful about important things like the color and design while out shopping. Keep scrolling to see some of my favourite sweaters (you might have seen them earlier but I love them so much to not repeat) and how I styled them.
The pastel pink sweater
You can never go wrong with a pastel pink sweater in the classic knot stitch and it is sure to bring a vibrant change to your outfit. Pair it with black skinny jeans or mini skirt and OTK boots for a fresh look that gets you excited while getting ready in the morning! I got mine from LilyLuluFashion but you can find similar at Asos or Boohoo
The classic black turtleneck
This one is the most abused sweater in my wardrobe. I have worn it number of times with my formal trousers, leather midi skirt (as shown here) and jeans. It goes with everything and the slouchy high-low cut makes it the most comfortable one to wear on days when you’ve eaten too much! I got this one from a local shop here in Norwich but you can find a black turtleneck at almost every high street store.
The flirty red sweater
This cropped sweater in bright red is a head turner. You might think of it as impractical for winter days but the off shoulder style is a perfect pick for parties or brunch dates when you want to look chic but stay warm at the same time! I picked this one up at IsawitFirst
Oversized grey sweater
This one is an investment piece that is going to serve you for years to come. The crew neck and grey colour are a classic that never goes out of style and you must invest in a good one like this from Cos without thinking twice! It is so warm that I can do without heavy layering even on days when the temperature is in single digits.
So this was a quick round up of classic sweaters that are always on top of my shelf these days. What are your favourites? Let me know in the comments below. 🙂
