If there is one piece of clothing that you must wear during summer season, it’s a skirt. There was a phase when I was into maxi skirts but currently I am fond of midi length skirts and already got two this season. This particular skirt is a thrift buy that I got during a shopping date with a friend of mine. I was not even looking to buy anything for myself but the moment I saw it, I couldn’t help but get it. The fabric is linen and lined from the inside which gives it a nice volume. The floral pattern and bright orange color screams summer and I had to style it for an outfit post on the blog for my summer lookbook.
While I was contemplating on different ways to style it, I had one thing clear in my mind, that I am not going to wear it the casual way. So I picked up my perfect white summer top to pair along with it and added a waist belt for a hint of elegance. The reason why I have not worn heels but a pair of flats is because I did not want my outfit to look too conventional. Plus we were on a weekend staycation at this resort and these golden flats matched the vibe perfectly.
Coming to the practicality of this look, I am more comfortable wearing loose clothes in breathable fabric than my regular jeans during summer. And the fact that these little modifications to my wardrobe every season brings a fresh change in my looks does not hurt at all. In my opinion, comfort and style goes hand in hand and I always keep that in mind while styling my outfits. You can pick up any trending piece off the market and style it the way you are comfortable and feel most confident in. Accessories are the best way to add detail to your outfit and make it look well put together. Since a white top is a perfect canvas to add accessories to, I added this woven cane belt for that final touch and loved how it turned out.
