The liquid lipstick fever is all over the place right now and how could I not try out one of the top selling products myself. Unless you have been living under the rock, you would know the hype created in the makeup world by these Kylie cosmetics liquid lipsticks. After reading so many good reviews over the internet I decided to give it a try. What I loved about the collection was the range of colors available and of course the fancy packaging. I picked up three matte singles in shade Posie K, Candy K and Reign since they felt the most ideal for my skin tone and under my budget.
I bought these from the original website and suggest you to do the same to avoid wasting money on any duplicate product. The shipping was down to $5 when I placed an order so just keep an eye on any such deals if you plan on buying one yourself.
The packaging looks sleek with the color showcased at one end and name printed on another. The brush applicator is perfect to spread the product evenly on your lips and comes in a glass bottle packaging. Formula of these liquid lipsticks in quite thin and runny but they dry up matte. There is a nice vanilla-isque fragrance to it which fades off the moment it dries.
Now lets review these matte liquid lipsticks by Kylie cosmetics for you.
This one is a very pretty cool toned mauve shade with deep rosey tints to it, something that will go with all your Indian outfits easily. I was wearing it for all the shaadi parties back home and it never let me down even hours without touch up. The pigment is really nice and does not change its color even one bit after drying.
I had read it online about this particular shade being dry as compared to others but I did not see any difference. All matte colors do tend to feel a bit dry but you must moisturise your lips very well. I keep my lips as hydrated as possible and with the weather getting a little cold these days, I can’t go without slathering my lips with a good balm. Just scrub your lips well to remove any dead skin and then nourish them. I start with applying a lip balm, lip liner and finally the liquid lipstick. This also increases the longevity of the product.
Candy K is a dusty rose shade which looks more nude but I was not too sure about buying this one initially. I assumed it to be too light for my skin tone and to wash me out. But I am so happy I got it, It is a perfect everyday lip color and suited me really well. It gives a nice muted warmth to my face and has got me many compliments.
It can form cracks around the lips after drying sometimes but again you must keep your lips well moisturized.
This shade is part of the matte metallic range from Kylie cosmetics. It is a deep metallic copper with brown hints to it. Although it is a metallic shade but the formula feels smooth and comfortable to wear for long. Infact it feels really light on my lips and the dark shade is perfect for holiday season.
Only issue with such highly pigmented lipsticks is the difficulty in getting these off your lips. Yes. you read it right, it sometimes becomes a task to remove these and one would not want to be very harsh on the lips. I suggest using olive oil or similar oil based remover so that your lips are not left chapped in the end.
In conclusion, I am in love with these Kylie lipsticks and would not mind spending $17 on it. I know the price is a bit high when there are many economical variants available in Indian market but this quality is nothing that I have seen before. I am yet to try the Colorpop lipsticks but if you have any take on that, please let me know 🙂
Hope this review helps and I apologize for the delay, I know it was long overdue. Do let me know if you have already tried any of the Kylie cosmetics liquid lipsticks, would love to hear your review about it.
