I wasn’t really a health conscious person until about three years ago. And I won’t deny that my weight bothered me at a certain point in my life, but then I was never overweight or don’t remember if I ever felt lethargic. In my mind I knew that I can always work it out if I work out or else I had my Punjabi genes to blame it on! But 3 years back it kind of stuck me, if not now, then when?
Out of that anxiety I joined a health club and started working out on a regular basis. I followed a strict diet and lost about 5 kgs in a month. I was ecstatic! But little did I knew that the lost weight was going to bounce back once I stopped the routine. Soon I realized my body was not prepared for such extreme workout and I lacked stamina. But that feeling of loosing a certain kilos stuck with me so I decided to take it slow and do it a better way this time. This quest of working towards a healthy me has brought me here and eventually to Volt Energy Club. I have been going there for more than a month now and can totally see positive changes happening. Some of you had messaged me over Instagram asking about Volt so I decided to put down the details here on my blog.
Volt is one of the best in class luxury fitness club located in Indiranagar spreading across three floors. Its sharp interiors and clean aesthetics are something that makes you feel good about working out the moment you step inside. The gym is equipped with all the high tech machines and there is a separate room for high intensity indoor cycling workout apart from personal training and warm up section. Battle rope training, HIIT ladder workout or punching bag exercise, name it and you have it there. All this under the supervision of best trainers from industry.
If you are someone who thinks gym workouts are boring (trust me you are doing it the wrong way then!), Volt even has weekly group classes. Yoga class is my second favourite after the functional training sessions with Kez. You can follow me on Snapchat and Instagram if you would like to see more of it. Besides physical exercise, I am working with the nutritionist available at Volt to make some changes in my diet too.
Their spacious lockers and clean shower rooms are a saviour when I am running directly to office after workout. And I need not carry a towel or worry about leaving the gym with messy hair. The towel and blow dry/straightening station is one of the many luxury offerings by Volt. Steam, Sauna and Spa (Yes! they do have an in house massage room) is something I look forward to on weekends.
Also, to simplify the search for nutritious meal options after a good workout, Volt has Chefkraft serving delicious food at their roof top cafe. I tried the chicken teriyaki salad the other day and it was yummy besides being healthy!
I would like to conclude this post by saying that my fitness journey is still evolving and I have a long long way to go. But I am happy to have good guidance and team to help me do that. You can also follow Volt on Instagram or Facebook for regular updates or tips.
